Asus G55VW Gaming Laptop Config Available for Pre-Order
Asus G55VW-DS71 15.6″ gaming laptop model configuration is available for pre-order now, sporting an entry-level quad-core i7-3610QM Ivy Bridge processor, the Nvidia GeForce GTX 660M 2GB GDDR5 video card, and a $1,475 price.
The Asus G55VW will be offered with faster processors down the line, but there’s no info on the availability of better video cards. You’ll just have to be happy with the one included. It also packs 12GB of RAM DDR3 1333MHz, expandable to 16GB. As far as storage there are two drive bays which can hold hard drives, hybrid drives, or SSD.
Regarding audio, the notebook has a built-in subwoofer and is TNX TruStudio certified. The Asus G55VW has a 2-megapixel webcam, three USB 2.0 and a single USB 3.0 port, the new Thunderbolt port, HDMI, and Bluetooth.
For this price you get a single 750GB 7,200rpm HDD and a DVD burner, with an optional Blu-ray. The screen is 15.6″ of full HD.
