Samsung Galaxy S3 accessories seen at Mobile Fun

When the Samsung Galaxy S3 hits shelves at the end of May, it won’t want for accessories. Samsung has taken the wraps off an impressive line-up of kit for its new flagship phone – read on for the details…

Samsung Galaxy S3 accessories

Keeping with the trend, Samsung followed up the much-hyped debut of the Samsung Galaxy S3 with the promise of a slew of sleek accessories that would be available by the time the device begins shipping. We’ve already heard that the release of the highly-anticipated wireless charging kit will be delayed for a few months. But let’s take a look at some of the other, equally impressive add-ons for the Galaxy S3.

Flip Cover

With most high-end devices rocketing by the $500 threshold, the need to protect and keep devices in pristine condition has come to the forefront. The official flip cover for the Samsung Galaxy S3 is well designed and easy on the eye, while also providing all-around protection.

C-Pen Stylus

The C-Pen Stylus is the thicker version of the S-Pen that accompanies the Galaxy Note. As the S3 stylus does not fit in as a part of the device, the form factor of the C-Pen is more similar to that of regular pen, making it far easier to use.

WiFi Display Hub

Media link devices between the phone and other displays such as the television, are almost a must-have these days. The Samsung WiFi Display Hub lets you project photos, videos, and anything else on your phone, to a TV with HDMI support, via WiFi.

Battery Charger Stand and Wireless charging kit

The Battery Charger stand let’s you prop up the device and charge it wirelessly, while also charging an additional battery that fits into a slot at the back of the stand. With multiple battery charging options, battery dying out is a problem you will rarely have to face.

Including a holder/battery charger, a Flip Cover, a Wi-Fi Display Hub and S3 C-Pen, which will retail for £34.99, £29.95, £79.95 and £19.99, respectively.

A limited edition Galaxy Nexus for all Google employees

No, not a phone by Louis Vuitton, but the gift that all Google employees have received at their respective offices. The orderly queue all employees of the big G has been awarded a beautiful limited edition Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

The plot, just remember that part of the LV brand products, is actually representative of all the new system icons, the latest version of Ice Cream Sandwich. Ok, maybe we will never receive a gift like that, but maybe you could try to win a Motorola RAZR.

Google TV 2.0 launched with Apps; New hardware promised

Google has officially launched its Google TV 2.0 update, promising that those with Sony Google TV hardware should see the upgrade early next week and those with Logitech’s Revue “shortly thereafter.” The new version, now based on Android 3.1 Honeycomb, brings a simplified interface to the smart TV platform, along with boosted search and YouTube playback, in addition to the long-awaited Android Market access, albeit with some caveats. Meanwhile, Google also says it has new hardware news incoming, including broader chipset support.

Those expecting the surfeit of apps available on their Android smartphone will be disappointed, given the limitations of the sort of hardware Google TV boxes are hooked up to. Those demanding telephony, a touchscreen or GPS won’t show up, and so there will be many omissions; however, Google says 50 developers have prepared titles to seed the store from the offset, and the tools to port existing apps – or, indeed, code new ones specifically for smart TV functionality – are freely available.

Search now queries Live TV, Netflix, YouTube and HBO GO, among other sources, but there’s also a new TV & Movies app that shows a choice of 80,000 TV shows and films from cable or satellite, Netflix, Amazon, YouTube and other sources. YouTube, meanwhile, is more closely integrated with the new UI, and there’s extra recommendations support.

As for the hardware, Google says that “in the coming months” it will have news on new Google TV devices from a broader range of manufacturers than currently support the platform. That will also include extra chipset support, something which has been well rumored in the past. We’re expecting to see ARM processors added to the roster, which will hopefully allow for cheaper, more energy efficient set-top boxes.

Samsung and Google’s Ice Cream Sandwich / Nexus Prime event back on for the 19th?

This week’s CTIA festivities aren’t the same since Samsung and Google decided to postpone their new product announcement that was originally scheduled for today, but now we’re hearing the Ice Cream Sandwich / Nexus party has already been rescheduled.

An inside source tells us the two have moved their plans for the Unpacked event to October 19th in Hong Kong (interested US residents should clear out the evening of Tuesday the 18th, time zones), timed to coincide with the AsiaD: All Things Digital event there next week. Naturally, we’ll be in the house, but with not long to go before the potential date, we’d expect to hear something concrete soon.

Samsung Nexus Prime caught in the wild? [video]

Today seems rife with Nexus announcements. We just reported about the “corrected” specs for the next Nexus phone, and now we’ve got reports about the phone has making an appearance in the wild. A Romanian website, Mobilissimo.ro recently posted up two new images and a video of the phone that is said to be the Galaxy Nexus/Nexus Prime. While the pictures and video of the phone surely look like it could be the same device, we don’t get to see a side profile of the phone to determine whether the phone will be carrying the sexy curve that was shown off in the Unpacked video.

Ice Cream Sandwich looks just like it did in previously leaked photos and videos, so no surprise there – but we can’t wait to get it on our own Android phones. The phone also doesn’t look like it’ll be packing the massive 4.65″ display but then again, the person holding the phone could have big hands. However the screenshots taken by the phone are definitely 720 x 1280 in size, which is testament to the phone’s 720p display (though there’s a possibility the screens were edited – until something is officially announced we can’t say for sure). We can also see that the capacitive buttons are now on the display of the phone itself.

Check out the video demonstration of the new Nexus phone running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and let us know what you think. Is this the phone you’ve been waiting for?

First official glimpse of the Samsung Nexus Prime?

Need any more proof that Samsung will be unveiling the Nexus Prime during its Unpacked 2011 Google Episode event next week? Samsung has just put up a trailer for the upcoming event, and right at the very end of the 30 second video, it shows the words: “Something BIG is coming” on screen and we get a glimpse of a device with a very curved shape, resembling a phone with a curved display.

Now there’s no way to confirm if this is the Nexus Prime, but judging by the hint at “something BIG”, and the fact that the previous Nexus had a curved display as well, this device might very well be it. The Nexus Prime is supposed to have a huge 4.6″ high-resolution display and besides the fact that it will run on Ice Cream Sandwich and won’t have any physical buttons, nothing else has been confirmed so far. Well, we’ve got one more week for more details to leak but in the meantime, feel free to watch the promo video on repeat:

According to Engadget, one lucky eBay shopper bought them self a Google Nexus S, and what did it come loaded with? Android Ice Cream Sandwich, have a look at the video of it in action below.

As you can see from the video Android Ice Cream Sandwich has a range of new features, and it certainly looks interesting from what we have seen so far.
