Samsung Galaxy S4 Gets Official (Video)

Samsung has officially announced the smartphone we have been hearing so much about over the last few weeks, the Samsung Galaxy S4 and it comes with some impressive specifications.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 comes with a 5 inch Full HD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, and it features Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, the handset will feature different processors in different markets as we heard previously.

Processing on the Samsung Galaxy S4 will either be provided by a quad core 1.9GHz processor provided by Qualcomm or an 8 core Samsung Exynos 5 Octa processor with a clock speed of 1.6GHz, Samsung has not yet said which regions will get the different processors.

As we heard previously in the week, the quad core processor Samsung Galaxy S4 is expected to launch in the US and the 8 core version is expected to launch in Europe and other markets as the international version of the Samsung Galaxy S4.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 also comes with 2GB of RAM and a choice of 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of built in storage, plus a microSD card slot that can take up to 64GB cards, this means that the top model can have a total of 128GB of storage.

Other specifications on the Samsung Galaxy S4 include a 2,600 mAh battery, the device also comes with dual cameras with a 2 megapixel front facing camera which is capable of full HD video and a 13 megapixel camera on the back.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 also comes with some of the features we have been hearing about over the last few weeks, which include Smart Pause and Smart Scroll, which lets you scroll the browser or emails up and down without touching the screen.

There is also the new Samsung Smart pause feature, which works exactly as we expected, when you are watching a video on your Samsung Galaxy S4 and move your eyes away from the display to look at something else the video will be automatically paused.

It certainly sounds impressive from the specifications, we will have more details on the full specifications later, the Samsung Galaxy S4 will launch worldwide at the end of April, Samsung have not given an exact date as yet and there are also no details on pricing, as soon as we get some more information we will let you guys know.

Samsung Galaxy S4 5 Inch AMOLED Display To Go Into Production This Month( Rumor)

Samsung are expected to put their new 5 inch AMOLED display into production some time this month, the display is rumored to be used in the new Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone.

We are expecting Samsung to announced the Samsung Galaxy S 4 at a special Samsung Unpacked event on the 15th of March, and the handset is rumored to go on sale in April sometime between the 15th and 22nd of April.

The production of these new 5 inch AMOLED displays for Samsung will start at the end of this month, and the first displays will apparently reach Samsung display around March, which would be a good date for the company if the Samsung Galaxy S4 is expected to launch in April.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is rumored to feature a new 4.99 inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, it is also rumored to come with Samsung’s new flagship mobile processor, their 8 core Exynos Octa 5 processor with a clock speed of around 1.8GHz or 2GHz.

Other rumored specifications on the Samsung Galaxy S4 include will also feature 2GB of RAM, and either 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of built in storage. Samsung are also rumored to be showing off this new AMOLED display at this years Mobile World Congress which takes place in a few weeks.

Samsung finalises its Windows 8 line-up complete with US pricing

Samsung has put the finishing touches to its Windows 8 line-up revealing pricing details ahead of the operating system’s debut on 26 October.

The range of Windows 8 products includes laptops, PCs and of course Samsung’s tablet devices with their detachable keyboards, or as the Korean manufacturer likes to call them, “Smart PCs”.

At an event stateside, Mike Abary, Samsung senior VP, showed off the finalised Windows 8 range, which included the Samsung ATIV Smart PC 700T, Samsung Series 9 Premium Ultrabook and Samsung Series 7 All-in-One desktop PC, before revealing how much we’ll need to shell out for these bad boys.

The Samsung ATIV Smart PC Pro 700T will cost you $1,200, while the lesser specced ATIV Smart PC 500T is priced at $750 with a keyboard and $650 without.

Samsung Mobile PCs

Samsung’s Series 9 Premium Ultrabook is available in two models, a 15-inch at $1,400 and a 13-inch at $1,300. The Samsung Series 7 Notebook again features a 15-inch display but is available for the slightly more affordable $1,100.

Depending if you opt for a Core i5 or Core i3 processor with the Samsung Series 5 Ultra Touch, you’ll be expected to fork out $860 or $810 respectively. Similarly, the Samsung Series 3 Notebook will start at $450, but could rise to $900 depending on what configuration you opt for.

Samsung All-in-One Desktop PCs

The Samsung Series 7 All-in-One is available with a 27-inch display at $1,700 or with a 23.6-inch display at $1,100. Finally the Samsung Series 5 All-in-One, which features a 21.5-inch display will set you back $800.

Pocket-lint has asked Samsung for UK pricing for its Windows 8 range and we will update as and when we find out.

Windows 8 will become available to the public on 26 October, so expect Samsung’s line-up to become available soon after.

Samsung will announce their latest Android smartphone later today, the new Samsung Galaxy S III mini, we have already seen a leaked press shot of the handset and now it would appear that we may have an actual photo of the device.

The photo below was posted to GSM Helpdesk (translated), and as you can see from the photo, the specifications listed next to the device are the same ones that we have been hearing about this week.

The Samsung Galaxy S III Mini will come with a 4 inch touchscreen display, the device is rumored to feature an 800 x 480 pixel resolution and will be powered by a dual core 1GHz processor.

The Galaxy S III Mini is also rumored to feature a 5 megapixel camera, we should have some confirmation of these specifications along with some decent photos later on today.

Samsung ES9500 demos 55″ OLED TV at World’s Fair

Samsung has unveiled their latest, world’s first OLED TV coded ES9500 back in CES early January this year. The 55-inches OLED TV is scheduled for release second half this year. Samsung also showcase the ES9500 OLED TV at the Samsung Premium TC Showcase 2012, positioning the Samsung ES9500 as the highest-class TV in the industry.

Samsung ES9500 comes with stylish black framing and minimalist structural and design that will blend seamlessly into any living room interior.

Features mentioned including a dual view feature that allows two people to watch two channels at the same time in full screen mode, Samsung’s Smart Content and super-slim bezel. You could expect to see Samsung ES9500 OLED TV on the retail shelves sometime prior Christmas or earlier this year, home market should be able to enjoy the new technology first hand prior overseas market.

Price wise, it’s not looking good. The AP says the TV is set to cost around 10 million won (~$8,750), and the TV isn’t set to ship until the “second half” of the year. The prices aren’t expected to come down until the OLED TV tech becomes more mainstream in the next two to three years. Better start saving up in the meantime.

Finally, Samsung unveiled its long-waited, long-rumored flagship Galaxy S III smartphone. According to the phone maker, the phone is “designed for humans and inspired by nature,” which “recognizes your voice, understands your intention, and lets you share a moment instantly and easily”. Unlike the Galaxy S II with a more rectangular shape, the third generation of Galaxy S has a pebble-like shape and looks a bit like the Galaxy Nexus.

The Samsung Galaxy S III is powered by a Samsung Exynos 1.4GHz quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM. It sports a 4.8-inch 1280×720 HD Super AMOLED (PenTile, however) touchscreen display, NFC support, AllShare DLNA, Bluetooth 4.0 (LE), GPS, and WiFi connectivity. It comes with 8 Megapixel auto focus camera with flash, Zero Shutter Lag, BSI sensor, 1080p Full HD video recording, and a 1.9 Megapixel front camera for video chat. Samsung also added burst shot, best photo, recording snapshot and HDR features to enhanced the camera. The handset is available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB capacities, and supports microSD/SDHC up to 64GB.
